“Code of Stone — Natural Stone Art Exhibition” throws into relief the profundity of traditional Chinese culture and its seamless integration with modern artistic outlook, with a focus on the oneness of Heaven and man, beauty of nature, spirit of stone and multiple faces of Earth, among other ideas and core values of traditional Chinese philosophy. The exhibition unveils the intrinsic connection between the beauty of the human mind and that of stone, embodying the constant pursuit of “harmonious coexistence of man and nature”, an aesthetic ideal upheld by the Chinese people since ancient times.
This exhibition presents to Sydney the seamless collaborations of man and nature. For us, holding such an exhibition is a responsibility — China Cultural Centre in Sydney and Network of International Culturalink Entities have long joined hands in friendly, in-depth cultural exchanges between China and Australia; it is also an incentive — Beijing Yingjie Museum of Stone Art has constantly engaged in stone art creation and promotion. We sincerely hope such exhibitions can share the experience and insights of both countries in ecological protection and green, sustainable development of human society.
