About the Concert

The Chinese Chamber Music Concerts are one of the most popular musical events hosted by the China Cultural Centre in Sydney every year and after nearly three years of worldwide pandemic restrictions, the concerts have finally returned for the Mid-Autumn Festival of 2022.

The two nights of world class cross-cultural music will showcase a fusion of different musical styles, talent, and rich artistic diversity between Australia and China. The program will feature some of Australia’s brightest young musicians and promises to bring back the beauty and charm of contemporary Chinese chamber music.

As one of the four major traditional Chinese festivals, the Mid-Autumn Festival celebrates the full moon, family reunion, good harvest and the pleasant season of Autumn with many rich and colorful customs. Though it’s not a public holiday here in Australia, the Festival is significant to all Chinese overseas. When we are celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, we are not only celebrating our traditional culture, but also sharing our best wishes and happiness with people around us.

I am delighted to see the Full Moon Melodies: Mid-Autumn Festival Chamber Music Concert to be held on this occasion to honor the sentiments as well as the cooperation of the local and Chinese artists. I wish the audience would enjoy the Concert and join in our celebrations.

On behalf of the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney, I would like to extend my warm congratulations to the Concert and wish it a great success!
