This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Australia. In collaboration with AC Art Space and Michelle Perry Fine Arts, China Cultural Centre in Sydney is proud to present the BORDERLESS Exhibition from October 28, 2022, to January 6, 2023. The exhibition features 19 masterpieces of well-known Australian contemporary artists, Adam Chang and Jasper Knight.
Adam Chang is a Chinese artist based in Australia, who has been internationally acclaimed for his impressive achievements in the art of portraiture. His ‘Shan Shui with Panda‘ series is regarded as the best symbol of China in the international art world. These representative works blend figurative and abstract, contemporary western elements and traditional Chinese art. As a leading Australian artist, Jasper Knight’s painting is best known for its bright colours and distinctive graphics. His formal vocabulary of drips, primary colours, and black outlines denotes his relationship to graffiti art, pop art and mixed media. As multiple award-winning contemporary artists, Adam and Jasper have different cultural backgrounds, but they both explore and create unique styles from various art forms. This exhibition brings together these two artists with different styles, showcasing an exploration and inspiration of art, and providing the audience with an opportunity to experience the diversity of contemporary art.
China Cultural Centre in Sydney is committed to promoting cultural communication and interaction between China and Australia, and strives to overcome the negative impact of the Covid pandemic and political prejudice. We hope This cross-cultural art exhibition could play a bridging role in mutual appreciation and understanding between the two people, and add splendour to the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Australia.
I wish the exhibition a great success.
