Fujian Province located on the southeast coast of China is adjacent to China’s Taiwan Province by the narrow Taiwan Strait. With a population of 35 million, Fujian is a principal source of overseas Chinese all over the world. Over 10 million overseas Chinese are originated from Fujian. Fujian is a province with splendid culture and rich natural resources. On the basis of Minyue culture, Fujian culture has been integrating Central Plains culture and overseas culture to create its unique Bamin culture. Mount Wuyi, Fujian Tulou, Kulangsu: a Historic International Settlement and Quanzhou: Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China have been included in the world cultural and natural heritage; Nanyin and other 7 projects have been selected into the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Fujian is also an ideal tourist destination with plenty of renowned mountains and peaks and excellent ecological environment. The forest coverage reaches 62%, ranking the first in China.

Fujian traditional orchestra is a provincial-level performing arts institution administered by the Fujian Song and Dance Theatre. The mission of the Orchestra is to preserve and develop fine traditional culture and traditional instrumental music. Dedicated to presenting the best of traditional music from home and aboard, the Orchestra has expanded its repertoire to include a wide variety of folk music in Fujian Province. It has been actively involved in local, national and international performance, and has received multiple awards for excellence in national competition. Over the years since its inception, the Orchestra has toured more than 30 countries and regions across five continents, and has been well received by press and audience, contributing its share to bringing traditional Chinese music to more people for vibrant cultural exchange.
Liu Sha
Well versed in both Chinese and Western music, Liu Sha is a National Class One Conductor and principal conductor of the China National Traditional Orchestra (CNTO). He is entitled to a special allowance granted by State Council, recognized by the national “10,000 Talents Program”, and commissioned by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as an Outstanding Expert. Liu also serves as a graduate supervisor in the Conducting Department of the Central Conservatory of Music and Executive Vice President of the Conducting Professional Committee of Chinese Society of Folk Orchestral Music.
Wang Qingshuang
Wang Qingshuang is a performing artist from China National Opera House. She is a National Class One Performer and a culture professional appointed by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee under the Four-Pronged Cultural Talents Program. She received tutelage from Professor Ma Qiuhua, a prominent educator of vocal music. Wang is the first-prize winner for folk sing at the 15th CCTV Young Singer Grand Prix, the 6th Chinese Golden Bell Awards for Music, and the 8th for Wenhua Prize for Vocal Music.
Xue Haoyin
Xue Haoyin is a virtuoso tenor soloist from the China Broadcasting Performing Arts Troupe. He is a National Class One Performer, a contract artist with the British Royal Opera House, and a visiting professor of the China Conservatory of Music. As a top prize winner of 12th CCTV Young Singer Grand Prix and the prestigious Rimski-Korsakov Int’ I Voice Competition, he has received multiple awards from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee. Xue also serves on judging panels for CCTV Young Singer Grand Prix and Chinese Golden Bell Awards for Music.
