The exhibition reflects the unique and outstanding spatial structure of Quanzhou during a specific historical period. The 22 heritage sites included in the exhibition cover various significant cultural elements such as social structure, administrative systems, transportation, production and trade, which together contributed to the development of Quanzhou from the 10th to the 14th centuries as a maritime centre of the trade networks in East Asia and South-East Asia, as well as  the economic and cultural growth in both regions.

The exhibition features 22 representative ancient monuments and sites of Quanzhou in various aspects, with natural and cultural landscapes complementing each other, highlighting a open, diverse and inclusive maritime culture and city spirit of Quanzhou in Song and Yuan Dynasties and shining with infinite charm.
