his film features the endeavour of Chinese people from different social classes who remain true to their original aspirations and keep forging ahead. It contains four parts named “Windriders”, “Poem”, “Ad Man” and “Go Youth”, and each tells us a story. These stories take place in different stages of Chinese history, including the Second Sino-Japanese War, the initial phase of the founding of the PRC, the Reform and Opening up, and the new era. Through the lens of several generations, this movie reflects the change of times and the inheritance of national spirit. Moreover, it shows the Chinese people’s perseverance in pursuing their aspirations.
