As one of the twelve traditional animal signs in Chinese zodiac, cattle has been deeply integrated into people’s daily life over the thousands of years of vicissitudes, playing an important role in the agricultural productivity of the Chinese nation. With the year 2021, or the year of ox (cattle) of China, approaching, Shaanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition which is co-sponsored by China Cultural Center in Sydney and Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and organized by Shaanxi Wenyi International Culture Development Co., Ltd, will be conducted at the China Cultural Center in Sydney, Australia from November 19, 2020 to January 8, 2021.
Composed of sections of “Wonderful Craftsmanship”, “Melody of Qin, Sounds of Nature”, “Ingenuity of Qin People”, “Skills of Central Plain of Shaanxi” and “Charm Experience”, the exhibition showcases more than 100 unique items of intangible cultural heritage works, videos or images, such as Fengxiang clay sculpture, Ansai paper-cut, Yaozhou Kiln ceramic technology, Shimen rubbing, Xiqin embroidery, Chengcheng hand-painted door curtain, Qinqiang opera, shadow play, Huayin ancient tune, etc, that all have cattle as the theme as presented in the traditional Chinese zodiac, displaying the masterpieces of inheritors intangible cultural heritage in Shaanxi.
The rich heritage of folk arts and the supporting exhibition of panoramic local culture and tourism pictures from Shaanxi, the ancient land of Qin, will open your visual journey. In the exhibition, you will closely feel and contact the wisdom of the sages who went through all the long years, the passionate Qin opera, the puppet show played with light and shadow, the colorful clay sculpture, the simple and true folk songs, the vivid embroidery and the ancient New Year pictures, with imprints still shining.
