About

This exhibition ‘one leaf knows spring and autumn’ brings together Chinese, Chinese-Australian and Australian artists in a creative investigation of what we mean by beauty in art, and how the aesthetic of beauty can play a critical role in the function of art and its relational aesthetics. More than ever before we need to find more reason to investigate beauty as we need more beauty to better understand the world we inhabit, share and live in. This cross cultural exploration of the ideas of beauty in the contemporary world expresses a deep commitment by the China Cultural Centre to engage our differences in a profound constructive manner founded on mutual cultural respect.

I greatly appreciate the support of the China Cultural Centre’s director Mr Xiao Xiayong for his enthusiasm in enabling such exhibitions that value and promote artistic dialogues between our cultures.
