Sponsored by China Cultural Centre in Sydney and Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, organized by Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, “Celadon Across the Sea–Zhejiang Archaeology and Chinese Civilization: Zhejiang Celadon Tour” Online Exhibition was launched on the websites and social media platforms of China Cultural Centre in Sydney.
“Celadon Across the Sea–Zhejiang Archaeology and Chinese Civilization: Zhejiang Celadon Tour” Online Exhibition tells the stories of Zhejiang celadon for thousands of years and shows the charm of celadon through video, VR, photos and interactive games to the world.
About Zhejiang
Zhejiang, the birthplace of celadon, carries the secrets of the world of celadon in its mountains and water, people and porcelain, the sea and the Maritime Silk Road, as well as the glory of Zhejiang land in its forever-burning kiln fire, so Zhejiang celadon boasts a significant part in Chinese civilization. Today, Zhejiang would like to share this wonderful gift to the world, for us to understand the world, to have dialogues with ancient Zhejiang and to appreciate the everlasting charm of China.

Enlightenment · Across the Ocean
A steamer ticket starts a celadon journey along the Maritime Silk Road. We get the stories of how Zhejiang celadon spread through the Maritime Silk Road, and feel the charm of celadon worldwide.
Origin · Celadon of Zhejiang
With four kiln centers and nine top kilns, we feel the picturesque scenery and the celadon kilns of Zhejiang. There is a saying “Culture nurtures one’s nature”, so the unique culture nurtures the flourishing celadon art of Zhejiang.
Appreciation · Age-long Zhejiang Celadon
The wheel of time presents 51 pieces of celadon wares in succession from the Xia Dynasty for us to sense the burning kiln fire and appreciate the elegant and brilliant masterpieces that shine for years.
Craftsmanship · Peak of Celadon
The process of making a fine celadon from soil, clay to fire and glaze is shown. With celadon making as its theme, it features the superb celadon production techniques of Zhejiang craftsmen and their pursuit of high quality.
Telling · Stories of Celadon
Experts and scholars of celadon archaeology and national intangible cultural heritage bearers are invited to share the stories of Zhejiang celadon in “Celadon Traveling Far Across the Sea”, “Searching for Antiquity Celadon in Zhejiang”, “Master of Celadon Art” and “Celadon in Other Countries”.
