Showcasing superb works of established Chinese artists, this exhibition provides an opportunity for Australian art lovers to explore these hand-picked masterpieces. It includes a lavish display of calligraphy works, traditional Chinese ink and wash paintings, oil paintings, Chinese seal engravings with diverse themes, forms and styles.
Fu Baoshi is considered to be one of China’s fine art masters. He was the Director of the Jiangsu Province Chinese Painting School and Vice-Chairman of Chinese Artists Federation.
Qi Gong was born into a Manchu family in Beijing in 1912. Both his great-grandfather and grandfather were Jinshi, an acclaimed Chinese academic title. He was a renowned Chinese calligrapher and artist.
Wang Bingfu was born in Tianjing in 1936. He graduated from Central Academy of Fine Art of China with a bachelor degree on Traditional Chinese Painting in 1961 and was under the tutelage of masters such as Shen Zhou, Huang Binghong and Qi Baishi.
Li ChaoXiong was born in Guangzhou in 1928. He graduated from Central Academy of Fine Art of China and was under the tutelage of renowned Chinese Artists such as Wu Keran, Wu Guanzhong, Wu Zuoren and Xiao Shufang.
