A special gathering of the participating artists in the upcoming “A Retrospective of Chinese Archibald Finalists” exhibition was organised by the China Cultural Centre in Sydney on 23rd July. Numerous of Sydney-based established Chinese artists, writers and photographers also showed great interest and joined the meeting.
With the aim of providing an opportunity for Chinese-born Australian artists to exchange ideas and share experiences, this Art Salon also created a wonderful atmosphere leading up to the forthcoming exhibition in the Centre.
Mrs. Zhao Li, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Sydney noted that:
“It is noteworthy that Chinese artists have made a great contribution to the multiculturalism of Australia, China Cultural Centre in Sydney is very pleased to offer such platform for thoughts exchange and experiences sharing.”
The meeting was filled up with a relaxing environment, accompanied by an abundant of exciting yet constructive perspectives from the participants.
“Chinese and Australian artists should communicate and interact with each other more often and in a much deeper sense, promoting one another’s culture on a platform which is predicated on further enhanced mutual understanding and appreciation towards each other,” pointed out by one of the Chinese artists, and agreed by the rest of the attendees.
“We are really thankful that China Cultural Centre in Sydney could create such a wonderful opportunity for us to exchange ideas and build up connections,” one of the participating artists said.
“A Retrospective of Chinese Archibald Finalists” will be launched on the night of 24th July, and on display till 28th Aug.
