Selected from tens of thousands of entries submitted by more than 1000 photographers in China, “Chinese Story 2016”, consisting of 60 handpicked photos, displays the varied lives of Chinese people in this vast and richly endowed land. The enchanting moments they captured are no less vivid and authentic depictions of the modern Chinese society.
Through photographer’s lenses, the exhibition explores cultural, social and economic lives of the people, the immense natural beauty of the land, as well as Chinese people’s great desire for and endeavors in pursuit of happiness and prosperity. The images of this exhibition also reflect many of the notions and ideas of which contemporary Chinese society is in favour, such as “peace”, “development”, “humanistic ideal” and “harmony”.
