With a long and rich history standing, Chinese traditional musical instruments play a vital role in Chinese music. They can be divided into four categories, stringed instruments, percussion instruments, plucked instruments and wind instruments. All of the instruments possess different tones and can be played for different types of music.
Invited by China Cultural Centre in Sydney, Mr. Hu Jian, Director of Hubei Chime Bells Orchestra is going to present a talk on Chinese traditional musical instruments. Through extensive introduction and demonstration of musical instruments, this talk would help the Australian audience to gain a better knowledge of Chinese ancient music and instruments, as well as Chinese culture in general.
