Foreword

Quanzhou: Emporium of the World in Song-Yuan China was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in July 2021 and became the 56th World Heritage in China. China Cultural Centre in Sydney, Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Quanzhou Culture, Broadcasting and Tourism Bureau of Fujian jointly organize “the Exhibition of the World Heritage City Quanzhou and Its Intangible Cultural Heritage – Quanzhou, the Best City Representing China during the Song and Yuan Dynasty” from 10th August to 6th October at China Cultural Centre in Sydney. The Exhibition designed with focus on world heritage and intangible cultural heritage plus with immersive hands-on experience of intangible cultural heritage will present the long history and unique landscapes of Quanzhou and highlight the consummate craftsmanship of the intangible cultural inheritors and the artistic achievement from the inspiration for beautiful life, showcasing the humanistic charm and promoting the international recognition of Quanzhou City.
