Sichuan Cultural Troupe visits Sydney high school campus

To help ease the transition from holiday to classroom as well as further increase enthusiasm and motivation to learn more about Chinese culture, Sichuan Cultural Troupe toured from Adelaide to Sydney and paid a campus visit to two local schools and presented their unique culture on stage to over 500 local students, during their first week back at school.

Both junior and senior students of Kogarah High School and Loretto Kirribilli were in attendance for this specially designed interactive opportunity. They greeted troupe members with deafening cheers as they saw them appear on stage in traditional dress. The performance lasted for 40 minutes and students were captivated by the enchanting scenes and entertaining scenarios, as well as the skilled performance from the artists.

A teacher from Loretto Kirribilli said “The face changing show was extremely captivating, but the acrobatic show definitely remains our students favourite. I can’t even imagine how much effort and hard work they’ve put in to become such skillful artists, especially at such a young age! I admire their courage and am impressed by their extraordinary calibre.”

“We are very excited to take part in this year’s Sichuan Culture Month and appreciate the opportunity to showcase the wonderful Sichuan Cultural treasures to residents outside of China, and to any degree if this trip has made any Australians gained a better understanding of our culture, it’d be a great honour of ours.” said leader of Sichuan Cultural Troupe.

The performance was the finale of Sichuan Culture Month. An array of cultural events were held to celebrate the charming culture of Sichuan Province throughout September and October.
