The exhibition of Utensils in the Han & Tang Dynasty organized by China Cultural Center in Sydney and Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and co-organized by Shaanxi Wenyi International Cultural Development Co., Ltd. will be released to the public from September 24 to November 15, 2020. Based on historical classics and archaeological materials, a total of 83 pieces of imitations of typical costumes and related appliances from the Han and Tang dynasties of China were restored, including 14 pieces of Tang Dynasty dresses, 11 pieces of female Tang Sancai, and 58 pieces of Ceramics, which embarked on a wonderful historical journey.

As is known, “China is a state of ceremonies, so it is called Xia(夏) (it means China attaches great importance to etiquette) and the beauty of its clothing is called Hua (华) ( it means beautiful and elegant). The powerful Han Dynasty and prosperous Tang Dynasty were two glorious periods in the Chinese history. The costumes of the Han Dynasty were simple and solemn, while those of the Tang Dynasty were beautiful and elegant. The female figurines have high chignon and wide sleeves, which are elegant and leisurely.

The living utensils such as tea storehouses, food bowls, incense burners and candlesticks are simple, elegant and beautiful. The perfect presentation of these graceful costumes, mellow pottery figurines and ancient and unsophisticated ceramic wares is enough to give a glimpse of the inclusive and brilliant prosperous atmosphere of Chang’an in the Han and Tang Dynasties.

Today, we employ innovative techniques to reproduce the works of the Han and Tang Dynasties, and challenge the modern world with classical works. Let’s go through time and space, experience the glory and elegance of the Han and Tang Dynasties together in China Cultural Centre in Sydney on the 24th of September, 2020.
