Foreword
To celebrate the Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger 2022, the Happy Chinese New Year Online Events will be lunched on the websites and social media platforms of China Cultural Centre (CCC) and China National Tourist Office (CNTO) in Sydney from 24 January. This special event is proudly sponsored by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney, CCC and CNTO in Sydney, Network of International Culturalink Entities (NICE), Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Gansu Province, which has been included in the Lunar Festival of the City of Sydney as a significant event.
This fascinating event consists of multiple programs, including 2022 “Happy Chinese New Year” Global Launching Ceremony & Concert, Looms of Spring – Chinese New Year Concert, Suzhou Sympathy Orchestra – Elegance of Chinese Music, Wind from the Sea – the Music Dance Drama by Zhejiang Performing Arts Group , “Silk Road in Symphony, Gansu in Harmony” Spring Festival Gala Evening, Charm of Jiangsu – Culture & Tourism Promotion and Immersive Performance Event, Charm of Chinese New Year – Children’s Animated Short Video Shows，“Digital Dunhuang” Exhibition，and the short video series – A Taste of Sichuan. Featuring art performances, digital exhibition, animations, and short videos, this event aims to celebrate the Lunar New Year online, presenting a colorful Chinese culture and art feast to our Australian friends and overseas Chinese in Australia.
为喜迎2022年虎年新春，中国驻悉尼总领事馆、悉尼中国文化中心、中国驻悉尼旅游办事处与中外文化交流中心以及江苏省、浙江省、甘肃省文化和旅游厅合作，于1月24日起陆续在悉尼中国文化中心和中国驻悉尼旅游办事处网站和社交媒体平台上推出虎年“欢乐春节”活动线上专题展。这个线上专题展同时也是悉尼市政府农历新年节的重要组成部分。
2022虎年“欢乐春节”活动线上专题展推出2022年“欢乐春节”全球启动仪式音乐会、“春满人间”新春音乐会、苏州交响乐团“泱泱国风”音乐会、“交响丝路·如意甘肃”春节综艺晚会、“水韵江苏”沉浸式演出、浙江演艺集团舞蹈剧场“风从海上来”、“数字敦煌”展、“春节戏韵”少儿动画短视频展播及“中国味道——天府美食之旅”等精彩的线上内容，以云演出、虚拟展、动漫、短视频等多样的形式“云端”贺岁，为澳大利亚朋友和旅澳侨胞送上一场丰富多彩的中国文化艺术盛宴。

Well-known for the name “Spring Festival”, the Chinese New Year is regarded as one of the most important traditional festivals for Chinese people. In this period of blossom, Jiangsu Women’s National Orchestra, reputed as “the Jasmine of Chinese traditional music” will present a high-quality concert “Blooms of Spring” highlighting the prosperity and romance of the season.This concert aims at showing the festival mood of the Chinese New Year, delivering the good wishes and expectations of the Chinese people for the year to come, and sharing a spirit of peace and harmony with peoples all over the world. The 45-minute concert contains 5 parts including 10 pieces of music on celebrating the Chinese New Year.
新春是中国人最重要的节日之一，在这个春暖花开的季节里，被誉为民乐茉莉的江苏女子民族乐团，以丝竹管弦为新春代言、赞颂花的芬芳、用民族音乐将春的浪漫娓娓道来，一曲春满堂，再奏花倾城。“春满人间”新春音乐会旨在展现新年喜庆祥和的氛围，传递中国人民对崭新一年的美好祝福和期望。音乐会总时长约45分钟，分5个部分，精选11首节日主题音乐作品。
Elegance of Chinese Music by SUZHOU SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
苏州交响乐团《泱泱国风》音乐会
In 2016, the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZS) was founded. Composed of more than 70 outstanding musicians from 20 countries and regions, SZS is a young and professional symphony orchestra which is rapidly evolving. Under the leadership of famous Chinese conductors Chen Xieyang and Xu Zhong, SZS has successfully held many large-scale musical events and international musical competitions, which has prepared the way for cultural exchanges between Jiangsu and other areas around the world.
苏州交响乐团成立于2016年。乐团由来自20个国家和地区的70多位优秀乐手组成，是一支年轻但发展迅速的职业交响乐团。在中国著名指挥家陈燮阳和许忠的带领下，苏交成功举办了多次大型音乐活动及国际音乐赛事，架起了江苏与世界文化的沟通桥梁。

“交响丝路·如意甘肃”春节综艺晚会
The whole show, with the theme of “Silk Road in Symphony, Gansu in Harmony”, features 4 parts: Spring Festival Overture, Dazzling Silk Road, Songs and Dances of Dunhuang, and Epilogue, including dances, songs, acrobatics, intangible cultural heritage, opera and other arts. The Gala presents the joy of welcoming the Chinese New Year and the appealing atmosphere in the traditional festival.
“交响丝路·如意甘肃”春节综艺晚会整台节目分为春节序曲、炫彩丝路、乐舞敦煌和尾声等4个部分，内容涵盖舞蹈、歌曲、杂技、非遗、戏曲等多个艺术门类，表现迎接新春佳节到来时的喜悦和中国传统节日的浓浓年味。

The fusion of Jiangnan characteristic folk music and modern electronic music renders a Chinese traditional vibe with a modern pop music twist. It demonstrates the ever-changing sounds of water in Jiangsu in depth and rich layers.
- Acrobatics: Umbrella Dance Lotus Waves
杂技表演：伞舞《莲漪》
The Umbrella dance is a combination of Chinese traditional dance and acrobatics, presenting images of Jiangnan women holding an oiled paper umbrella, which celebrates the gentle and subtle beauty of Jiangnan.
- Kun Opera & Dance: Charm: Dancing in the Charming Water
昆舞表演：《水舞昆韵》
Inspired by the story of A Dream in the Garden, it integrates the Kun Opera and dance with dreams and time travel as the media. It’s a story where a modern young man who meets a girl in the ancient times in his dream where their story unfolds in a realm between the dream and reality, past life and present life.

The performance opens with the clear and pure little girl’s voice, leading to folk dances. The famous Jiangsu folk song “Jasmine”, known as the second national anthem, was adapted as the keynote of the music, presenting the charm of water with Jiangsu characteristics.

Director’s note
Since its opening in the Qin and Han dynasties, the Maritime Silk Road has been a key economic and cultural node which bridges the East and the West. Porcelain, silk, and tea are the first three items foreigners learnt about China. In the meantime, they are Zhejiang’s cultural brands that demonstrate the cultural power and the contribution the Province made to the building of the Maritime Silk Road. The fine project consists of independent pieces, with each reflecting local characteristics and the Silk Road culture.
导演阐述：古老的海上丝绸之路自秦汉时期开通以来，一直是沟通东西方经济文化交流的重要桥梁。在中外经济和文化交流史上，国外友人曾从“瓷、丝、茶”来认知这一东方文明古国。“China”(瓷)、“Silk”(丝)、“Tea(茶)也正是浙江的三个重要的文化品牌。舞蹈剧场《风从海上来》每个节目都是以反映浙江特色、浙江现象、丝绸之路文化而创作的独立作品，再由这些作品贯穿全篇。
“Digital Dunhuang” Exhibition
“数字敦煌”展
Dunhuang Grottoes is not only a brilliant art treasure of ancient Chinese civilization, but also an important witness to the dialogue and communication between different civilizations that had taken place on the ancient Silk Road.
“Digital Dunhuang”, a protection project of Dunhuang with virtualization technology, integrates virtual reality, augmented reality and interactive reality. It digitizes the treasures of Dunhuang, facilitating tourists’ visit, appreciation, and research without the constraints of time and space. The remote sensing and mapping technology combined with computer and digital imaging can record all the cultural relics such as the shape of the Mogao Grottoes and the sculptures in the caves. With this measure, the permanent preservation and sustainable utilization become possible for cultural relics of the Mogao Grottoes.
The “Digital Dunhuang” project is of demonstration significance in this century, and it has a long way to go. On the basis of extant achievements, we will continue to innovate and cooperate with others to make unremitting efforts for the permanent preservation and sustainable use of Dunhuang’s cultural heritage.
“数字敦煌”是一项敦煌保护的虚拟工程，包括虚拟现实、增强现实和交互现实三个部分，使敦煌瑰宝数字化，打破时间、空间限制，满足人们游览、欣赏、研究等需求。运用测绘遥感技术，将莫高窟外形、洞内雕塑等一切文化遗迹，利用计算机技术和数字图像技术，实现敦煌石窟文物的永久保存、永续利用。
Charm of Chinese New Year ----Children's Animated Short Video Shows
“春节戏韵”少儿动画短视频展播
The program presents eleven short videos in the forms of 2D animation, stop-motion animation, etc. targeting at children and themed on Chinese New Year, which of draw inspiration from Spring Festival culture, traditional customs, and the Twelve Zodiac Animals culture and combines them with elements from traditional Chinese operas and the Winter Olympics. All animated short videos were created by young animators from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts and convey good wishes for family reunion, harmony and health.
“春节戏韵”少儿动画短视频展播围绕春节主题，从春节节庆文化、传统习俗、十二生肖文化中汲取创作灵感，融合中国戏曲和冬奥元素，通 过二维动画、定格动画等形式，推出 11 部面向少年儿童的动画短视频，表达“团聚、和谐、健康”的美好祝愿。所有视频均为中国戏曲学院青年动画创作者原创。
A Journey of Taste in Sichuan
天府美食之旅
Sichuan, located in the hinterland of China, boasts abundant natural and cultural sights. This short video series focuses on three representative cities of the province, including Chengdu, a “City of Gastronomy,” Zigong, the “Millennia-old Salt Capital”, and Langzhong, the “Cradle of Spring Festival Culture”. As the most important traditional Chinese festival―Spring Festival―draws near, let’s follow the steps of the giant panda An Yi, the mascot of Sichuan culture and tourism, to have a taste of Sichuan by enjoying Sichuan cuisine, Sichuan Opera, and beautiful scenery while celebrating the Chinese New Year.
四川，位于中国腹地，拥有丰富的自然和人文景观。此系列短片选取“世界美食之都”成都、“千年盐都”自贡、“春节文化之乡”阆中三座代表性城市，在中国传统节日春节到来之际，跟随四川文旅吉祥物大熊猫“安逸”的脚步，开启品川菜、看川戏、游美景、过春节的四川美食之旅。
